How would you like to win this framed piece of art (worth $350)!? My best friends and owners of Matage Custom Framing are holding a contest to give it away! Go HERE to check out the details of the contest. The painting is called "Mary's Heart" it is absolutely beautiful! The winner will be chosen at the end of May.
Two Weeks of Toys - Giveaway Event
For the past two weeks 5 Minutes For Mom has been highlighting a TON of different 'toys' for kids. The details of the contest can be found here. The deadline to enter is on May 7th! Good luck! I hope to win the Exersaucer and/or BebePod Plus. Caden has his eye on the LEGO City Police Headquarters. There are lots of others that I have my eye on too...heres to hoping! Winners will be announce on May 9th!

Recently Julie had a contest for a purse pal. I never got around to entering the contest :(, but I thought that the product was so cool that I thought I should still mention it. It is a cute little portable hook for your purse! That means that there is no more putting your purse on the yucky floor at at restaurant! I might just have to buy one myself. I also think it makes a great, and unique type of gift!

Randomness

*The other day after the kids took their baths...I was drying off Thomas. Caden and Sydney were hovering over...as usual...watching me get Thomas dressed again. The next thing that came out of Caden's mouth had me rolling. "Hey, Mom...Why doesn't Thomas have a neck?"

*Last Friday I got to sub for a Bunko group. The last time I had played Bunko was in H.S. I have always been secretly jealous of my friends that are actually part of a group. It always seemed like a fun way to get together with friends. I am so glad that I went. I had so much fun & I got to meet two of my 'bloggin buddies' Andrea and Julie (aka crazymama). What is even better is they asked me to be part of the 'group' ...I feel so cool now. :)

*I also went and picked up tickets for the Summer Movie Fun at Harkins. Now we get to go to a movie every Friday morning over the summer...so that is 10 movies for only 7 dollars! What a deal. Caden picked up a flyer they had at the theatre, and every day he has been looking at all the "cool movies" he is going to get to watch. I giggle everytime I hear him try to explain them Sydney. "Sydney, The first one we get to watch is 'The Pirates with no feet'(Veggietales - Pirates Who Don't do Anything), then the 'Bad Turtles'(TMNT), third 'Penguins'(Surfs up), fourth 'Shrek the King'(Shrek the Third), 5th 'Bee Movie', 6th 'Friends'(Mr Magoriums), 7th 'Chipmunks'(Alvin & the Chipmunks), 8th 'Flushed Away', 9th 'Girl'(Nancy Drew), 10th 'Rabbit Hunter' (Wallace & Gromit)

*I go back and forth during seasons of actually watching American Idol. This year I have been really into for a couple of reasons. One Brooke White is from Arizona...I actually know people that know her. I think she is a cutie, and it has been fun to watch her. I don't personally think that she will win, but I still like her. I have always been a fan of David Archuleta. I think he has a voice that is so smooth, and beautiful. I had always that he is the one that would win. That is until last week. I had never actually been a fan of David Cook. I thought he was cocky, and full of himself. I always ended up fast forwarding through his performances. But OH MY GOSH...I was so amazed by his rendition of Mariah Carey's "You will always be my baby." I think I am officially converted, and I feel like a giddy teenager with a crush. This guy is so talented, and I could listen to this song over and over again. If you didn't have a chance to see it...or are not into AI...you HAVE to watch this. You won't be dissapointed!

*I really hate this between phase of my body. I am not a big as a whale anymore, but so not what I was before I was pregnant. I think I change my clothes 5 or 6 times before I find something that I kinda like. I can't bring myself to get anything new...yet I have nothing to wear!!

*On a happy note...I did get to go back to the gym today! Yippee!!

Fun in the Sun

For those of you that weren't able to go to the "Fun in the Sun" Activity...you missed out! It was one of the funnest things that I have done with my kids, and it was all free! There was so much to do that we didn't even get to all the different stations. I hope they do it again because the kids had a blast. I was a little worried about how I was going to handle it with all 3 kids, but it worked out great! Thanks to Cricket for telling me about Hotslings! I bought one shortly after having Thomas, and I love it! It allowed me to have my hands free, keep Thomas happy, and it is so much easier than a Snugli. We were there until it ended, and then Karyn and I stayed longer, and let the kids play together in the park. It was so fun to watch them all get along. They had so much fun that we ended up being the last people to leave the park! It was a great day!

52 Blessings Project - Week Fourteen

The 52 Blessings Project
Once a week post a photo of something you are most grateful for. This gives us a chance to reflect on the good things we have learned from or that have made us better in our everyday lives or things we just enjoy! I think everyone needs to be more grateful for what they have now instead of always thinking about what we want! This is one of the things we can do to be more gracious people. It will be like a photo gratitude journal.

Week Fourteen

When I had Caden, I was like a typical first time mom. I didn't want to let him out of my sight. I wanted to provide everything for him. I had always known that I would breastfeed, and that is what I did. I don't think we even tried to give him a bottle until he was about 9 months old. I bet you can imagine the fight he put up with that. It was horrible. I didn't want that to happen again...everything I read said that I needed to wait until the baby was about 6 weeks old before I introduced a bottle. 'They' said that was so that my body could produce an adequate milk supply or something. So when I had Sydney...that is what I did...but it ended in the same result. I absolutely hated it. I hated the feeling I had every time I left my child. Not knowing if she was going to take the bottle or not. Whether she was screaming for hours on end. Not to mention how bad I felt for the person that was taking care of her.

This time around I am determined not to have a child that is so dependent on me for nourishment. We purchased a pump, and from the day that our little Thomas was born we have fed him from a bottle almost everyday. He obviously prefers me over the bottle, but at least it isn't as foreign to him, he still gets the same nourishment, and it allows me to be able to leave him without worrying.

This past Tuesday, I was able to go to Orchestra for the first time since I had Thomas. If it weren't for bottles I don't know when I would be able to get out by myself again. I am so thankful for such a wonderful invention.

If you would like to visit other peoples 'blessings' just go to Gardenview Cottage for a list of participants!
